The idea behind Gendang was simple and born out of a void. The itch to know tales and perspectives of the local arts scene – be it music, film, theatre or television that simply wasn’t being drummed up enough. If at all. There’s just an abundance of talent and stories that aren’t getting the exposure, respect and recognition they deserve and we at Gendang, want to tell these stories.

We’re a bunch of writers, producers and musicians who are all passionate about the local entertainment scene, led by co-founders Amresh & M. Zulkifli.
